Current Verner Families
At Verner, we strive to provide the best books for children published each year. The list includes more than 600 titles chosen by reviewers for literary quality and excellence of presentation as well as the potential emotional impact of the books on young readers.
Tuition Assistance funds are awarded on a case by case basis. We take into consideration the amount of available funds at the time of the request. We strive to provide as much support as possible to families in need.
If you are seeking tuition assistance, please speak with your Family Advocate or Center Director to get more information on applying. Applications need to be submitted by the 5th of the month to be considered.
Because our families and staff travel vast distances to all of our locations, each Verner site will take its cue from another nearby school or district. At the same time, Verner reserves the right to act independently when we see fit in to meet the needs of our families and to keep our children, staff, and faculty safe. Please make sure we can reach you at all times.

The state of North Carolina requires all Early Childhood programs to test their water for lead at any water source. All Verner Centers were tested in 2020:
- Verner East: At or below 0.1 ppb
- Verner Central: 1 water source testing 0.331ppb, within safe limits.
There is no safe level of lead in water for children. Verner practices safe water habits by:
- Designating drinking faucets and non drinking faucets
- Allowing water to run for 1-5 minutes when faucets have been inactive for an extended period.
- Using cold water for food preparation
- Regularly maintaining equipment to ensure safety
