Verner Experiential Gardens (Veg!)
The Verner Experiential Garden (VEG!) is an outdoor classroom where children explore, discover, and connect with nature year-round. Each week, Verner classrooms visit the garden to learn through hands-on experiences including planting, harvesting, composting, and caring for the environment.
The garden features raised beds, fruit trees, herbs, composting areas, and gathering spaces that encourage curiosity, healthy habits, and community connection. VEG! is a welcoming space where children, families, staff, and community partners come together to learn, grow, and share experiences across generations.
“VEG!” Is A collaboration among four non-profit organizations: The North Carolina Outward Bound School (NCOBS), Verner Center For Early Learning, The Roots Foundation, and Warren Wilson College.
